And of course this being a 944 site, we are abviously steering you toward the 944 and not the MR2(rice).

How is the MR2 rice?
OHhh zoltan...Is the MR2 rice?

No car is rice from the factory, it is turned into rice by stupid owners.

LOL,

RICE is a term used with any car that has a Japanese name plate.

I would have to agree with that.

This is why I prefer not to use the term because everyone seems to have their own interpretation.
As was posted in a recent debate over the expression "it means a fake, a poser" well why not just call them that?
As I see it it is meant to portray the immature dork that plasters his/her car with a bunch of useless junk and ends up looking like a fool anyway.
Chances are when these people grow up they will look back and have a good laugh at the silly cars they drove around in.
This is an open form and you can say whatever you want but let's not try to take this subject too seriously.

The Yello one looks very sharp ... nice and clean.

I've never liked that empty space between the 2 tailights on the 944/951 and the black bumper pads. Otherwise, it looks quite good. (and that metal bumper can take a 5 mph hit without dissintegrating )

Biggest difference I noticed in going from Honda to Porsche was the weight and solidity of the car. (plus the acceleration possible over 100 )

Only problem with mods like the yello car is you lose the effectiveness of the factory spoiler which was fitted under the stock 951 bumper. Anyone know how much of a difference there is with/without the factory spoiler addition?

Anyway .. here's a pic of a stock 951 in north america. Euro plates suit it much better IMHO.

One more thing, since we started the RICE debate ... I've got no problem with people customizing their cars and being unique with paint, kits, stickers, whatever ... that's very cool.

<img src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" border="0" alt="[soapbox]" />
What gets me is the stupidity of the large fart can exausts. I can't sleep at night any more because I've got these morons racing from one light to another (all of 200 ft apart). Not to mention killing each other and innocent bystanders in the process. Want to race ... hit the track!

Sorry, but the whole thing just gets me going.

I agree. That's why I have the lens cover b/t the taillights.

I think my car looks a lot better set up this way. I do agree that the bumper on this car is, well, not ugly, but definitely dated. I think the bumper on the car I posted earlier would still allow the rear valence to fit. What'd'ya think?

How long could you possibly have been involved in Euro Cars for? I guess telling us your age may help some of us understand why you are posting like you are. You are not stupid like I initially thought... you are just young. Thanks,

Now for the third time, I will call you ignorant again. How is a Mr2 rice? Can a mod just lock this stupid thread. It's pointless now.

Michelle, I've thought long and hard about sticking one of those light assemblies in there, but the "keep it stock" gremlins keep talking me out of it.

I still can't decide if the filler looks better or makes it look cheaper. My wife says don't do it. I know some of the 911 models have the wrap around light and it somehow suits them but it seems too big on the 944. The Yello car has the right idea I think by just filling in the space with metal/fibreglass. Much cleaner I think.

The other problem with the light filler is that the plate looks a bit out of place on the bumper.

Maybe we should start a poll? <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Confused as to what RICE is?

<a href="http://www.riceboypage.com/what_is_riceboy/" target="_blank">http://www.riceboypage.com/what_is_riceboy/</a>

and

<a href="http://www.riceboypage.com/" target="_blank">http://www.riceboypage.com/</a> if you want to browse around the Hall of Shame, etc...

The porsche community has found other words for body kit because of their distaste for the name...Instead we describe the specific end of the car the "kit" is for...rear end, nose, sideskirts..etc...

And guess what...yes thats right I'm 18 as well.

If you dont like what someone else likes there is NO need to call them stupid, or insult them because of their age...if somebody wants to do something and it doesn't effect anybody else...then why the heck can't they? I mean does someone putting a "body kit" on a 951 really effect you? Why do you care?

I would think that there are better things for you to be worrying about...

The fart pipes, that I can understand why they bother you...because that actually effects you...

ANYWAY.

Check out <a href="http://www.jacquemond.com" target="_blank">http://www.jacquemond.com</a>

I would never get any rear end modification that didn't let me use the rear valence or something similar...although thats easy for me to say because I don't dislike the @$$-end of the 951.

Grafting the 968 rear end onto the 951 looks sweet..but is a lot of work. You can buy the parts from someone in europe...but don't expect good customer service from him.

I think the yellow car is a bit too much plastic back there, kinda reminds me of a 2nd gen Eclipse.

At first I didn't like the way the rear looked either, but over a year and a half it grew on my alot. Not my favorite part of the car, but I still think it looks nice.

I haven't made up my mind about the center piece inbetween the lights yet. It doesn't look bad, I just don't know if I would do it. I'd have to see one in person first.

I like the plate on the bumper. The spot b/t the rubber pads looks like it was made for the plate. Here's a better shot:

I think it does look like the 911 rear somewhat. To each her own

Cool Link! ... was that a 944 station wagon and acura headlights. Woah! Tell me it ain't so

I agree as well to 'do whatever you like to your car as long as it doesn't bother anyone' .... the loud exhausts bother me , and I guess they bother others as they are against bylaws in many places I believe ... just not enforced. Otherwise, GO NUTS! Hell, it's not my $$$.

Actually I find the North american sized plates don't fit the front or rear of these euro cars very nicely ... guess I have to move.

hmmm....18....I'm also 18. But here's somethin for ya, Don Juan.....most of these guys here are 25-40 and maybe higher. Some of these guys live, eat, and breathe cars. Granted, the mr2 is a great car, but the members here have been around cars a long time. These guys truly know what sports cars are. So, for you to call them ignorant....I think you should lurk around some more before you say that. The people here are very open minded when it comes to cars. I'm sure you're used to hanging around a board where everyone's 15 or 16 (yah...the bimmer boards I'm on are really pathetic). but here, its different.
