Default Need help with late interior car

Can someone please check something with a late interior car. Last week I installed a new plastic strip that covers the clock, hazard switch and cigar lighter. I think I may have screwed up putting the lighter assy.back in b/c my lighter seems to stick out further then it did before and when I push it in just a little it starts to get hot ( which it should to a point). Something just isnt right about it.

I need you guys to check and see if yours is tight against the trim Thanks

The actual socket that the lighter goes into on mine is sunk about 1/2" deep, if that is what you are referring too.

Im not going to pull this trim again until another warm day so I guess it wouldnt hurt anything as long as I leave the lighter element out of it.

Did you install the metal ring that holds the actual socket in the trim?
