Post Power Steering???

Is this impossible?

When I bought my '83, I thought it was cool that there was no power steering-feel of the road, etc.

My wife hates it-doesn't like to drive it because it hurts her wrists. If I could pick up the rack, lines, pump, and cooler from a parts car cheap-can I retro this onto my car? How hard would it be? Any fabrication? Has anyone else attempted this?

I just went in the opposite direction and converted from power to manual. I am not 100% sure, but I think it should be a pretty straight forward, though time consuming swap. The only things that I would reckon might be missing from your car are the hanger for the power steering pump (I think it may actually be there) and the accessory drive pulley on the end of the crank for the pump. Other than that it should be a straight up swap.

I have all the parts off my car for sale if you want, all the lines and the rack and pump, etc. Got pictures if you would like to see them. They have about 100k miles on them but they don't leak a drop.
