Fuel pump strap
I was driving along the other day and suddenly heard metal coming into contact with tarmac! Pulled over to find the metal strap that holds the cover over the fuel pump had snapped.
I was expecting a lot worse and after pulling off a few loose bits and removing the cover I was on my way again! Shocking thing is that replacements are £150from porsche and I can't find a decent second hand set. Its simply a bit of metal with a pin through each end so could probably be made up easily enough but i could do without the hassle at the moment. Does anyone know where to source a replacement for a reasonable price?
Thanks
Mark

The parts you want are items 20 & 21 on the dcAuto Website. They are listed at $25 each (about 15 UK pounds), or try Porsch-Apart in the UK, 01706 824053, www.porsch-apart.co.uk

Thanks for the advice. Already tried porsh-apart but they dont have a good 2nd hand set. However DC auto hacve them for $25 which is cheaper than I can get them in the UK even with shipping. I guess these parts rot in the UK due to our great weather and are scarce?

Ian,
Sent you an e-mail to see of you could supply these parts (obviously not for free!!!!) but no reply? Ordered used from DC Auto and parts shipped from US to UK in less than a week. After a de-grease and coat of paint they are as good as new. Will check DC Auto in future when I need stuff in future as prices are competitive, even with shipping costs. Thanks for the advice
