Posting on the Lone Star PCA list this evening. If we can get 10 or so we can have a Rennlist only race - for bragging rights of course!

If you guys haven't been out to the Kart Zone before, check out the web site. This is an awesome facility. Karts are NOT your garden grade Briggs and Stratton putt putt. Per the tour I took, they will do 0-60 in under 6 seconds, which of course means they will go 60 mph! Track surface is not concrete, but a prepared surface for traction.

There is a fantastic older Jag on display as well as a 2002 Porsche Cab. Food and soda is available (track food) as well as racing sims.

Post if your coming, P-Car not required but encouraged. I'll have my 951 there. Come on out and play!

Indeed!

I used to race karts roughly 10 years ago. I've been to DJKZ and I will attest that these are indeed real racing karts. They are the same thing you could/might buy to contest a local or even national championship.

The engines are not real racing kart engines however they are better than the 4 stroke Briggs engines that are used in all of the 4 stroke racing classes. In fact, I'd put the performance of these engines between a Briggs and a proper 2 cycle racing kart engine. Certainly they have plenty of oomph for the indoor track.

I've also driven them, and the one I drove was actually pretty well set up. Just on the understeer side of neutral, but with a deft touch it could be made very neutral. Definitely great fun.

I'll keep you posted. Hopefully this will become a regular thing - no sense in letting all the east and west coast guys have all the fun.

On a side note, the 928 gang is going to Bastrop State Park this weekend. They have opened up the invitation to all, so I plan on going out on Saturday or Sunday (just moved offices and I'm a bit bushed, not sure I can "rev" up the ole engine to make the trip on Saturday).

Five days and counting. Add Jim and his 924S to the count. Mad George says he will try to make it, so that's one maybe and six on the track.

How about it Houston 944 owners - we've got two coming from WAY OUT! Let's give 'em something to write home about!

Just want to make sure folks don't forget to make it to the Davey Jones Kart Zone on Saturday.

I'll be there, at least for a while, but I won't be able to race <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" /> (recovering from surgery).
