ROCK progress thread- reincarnating the Turbo Cab

Hmm, yeah I guess that's going to be tough. Let's rent a toter home with a 4 car transport. I'm sure that wouldn't be too expensive.

Wow, that's quite the restoration project you have going there Dan! Rock is really lucky. I still remember when you painted Pete's S2 ...
That clear should help keep the finish looking nice much easier. Just as an FYI, the factory Black cars had no clear coat for some reason.
just spent ANOTHER $130 of my own moneyz on a gallon of clear today, activator, laquer thinner and mix cups, tape etc. on top of the sand paper, tape, primer etc...so i have everything i need to finish the paint.
got everything in primer- just need to wetsand, lots and lots of masking and taping- then... BLACK.

seems like the Rocks cars always need work...
yeah the Porsche paints were only clearcoated over the metallic colors that could not be otherwise buffed out. Solid colors were single stage.
THanks for the comments, cant wait for this thing to leave though.

It looks like the primer is uneven - is that intentional, not intentional or an optical illusion from the flash? Also, is it creating a big mess in your garage with overspray, or are there techniques to keep that down?

actually my garage is pretty clean- after sanding and such i take the air hose to the whole place and blow it outside then scrub everything down- granted its a real car garage where lots of different things take place, luckily its not attached to the house.
