If it makes you feel the least bit better, I've spent a good amount of time behind the wheel of vipers...they're so friggin twitchy I actively AVOID having to drive them at this point. Fun in a line, hate when you have to turn. Off ramps are of particular unhappiness, particular decreasing radius...the steering is just so reactive, there's NO margin for error (sneeze and it's ditch city)...even the new SRT 10 suffers from this, but not nearly as bad.

Awwww man I feel so sorry for you. It must be horrible. I'll have to see if I can dig out my violin for you.

Sid, part of my job is driving highlines...when you compare the viper to the 360 Modena, the 550 Maranello, the Aston Martin Vanquish, the SL 55, the Porsche Twin Turbos...well, I hate to sound like a snob but it's a bit ho-hum, and sits SO far below those other cars in just about every area, that I just can't get excited about a car that is nothing more than stupid fast in a straight line. There are about 50 things I can say about the viper that I DON'T like, and only about 3 that I do. It's not that I'm being particularly elitist...if you gave me the option of my 951 and the $30k difference for an early Viper GTS, all those other cars aside, I'd take the 951 and the money all day long! Just wanted to maybe put to bed the 'allure' of the Viper for those who've never had the opportunity to realize that they're not all that impressive to drive, not to toot my horn about *yawn* driving really slick cars.

My point not being that compared to cars 5 times more exspensive. Or even the epitomy of cars, a well tuned 951.

Point being it's kind of like saying.

I get paid to sleep with Playboy Bunnies, and I'm telling you the BJ's from Ms. America just doesn't compare to some of the others. Yeah she's got a great rack, and all, but really.....

2000 Ferrari 360 Modena Skidpad: .96g.

550 Maranello Skidpad: .94g.

2002 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish Skidpad: .91g

1998 DODGE VIPER GTS SKIDPAD, 0.98G

Hmmmmmmmmm

I know feel and confidence is just as important as ability. But the fact is that the Viper is (and this is the opnion of a guy who can't hope to drive any of these cars, so real world is out) just as much of a car by the numbers, though the feel may not be as nice.

And I'll hardly be able to afford a real Ferrari, maybe a used Aston (not a vanquish, I think the 87's are prettier anyways) but in the same price range I could get a decent Viper. and parts and work has got to be easier, if not cheaper.

But, when your buddy sleeps with a model, or a **** star, or even just the super hot waitress at the local pub [insert any other mysterious, alluring, and/or interesting female category] doesn't it give you a sense of satisfaction to hear that she was a wet blanket in the sack? ;o)
