Guy posted this over in the 20V thread in the 951 forum. Very cool build....makes me want to grab another 944 and put an 20VT in it.

Cool job - but for 170 HP?!? The standard 944 had 160 HP. Isn't that a lot of work for 10 HP?

Great fabrication work.

Yesyes, I know!! But hey, I am (was) on a budget. I grabbed the n.a. 20v engine for a mere 350 EUR and I did nearly all the fabrication myself. Should I ever decide to put a 20vt in it in the future then it will be a breeze. BUt with additional hp comes other issues, for instance the gearbox => the original 944 unit is not too strong so I've heard.

But nevertheless, I use this car almost entirely for trackdays, and the 170hp is enough to have fun thus far.

All that time and effort and doesn't go with an external oil pump/sump kit? If it were me - bullet proof that thing a build a dry sump setup.

Otherwise - VERY cool.

Again this was a budget build. A dry sump system alone would cost more then the car itself!
