Post Amelia Concours (new and improved with pics!)

Well guys, I went to the Amelia Concours this weekend and it was AMAZING. I should have pictures to post soon. It was the first time in history all 5 Grand Sport Corvettes were together. Among the other fascinating non-Porsche cars there were a ton of turn-of-the-century Buicks, the 24 Hours of Le-Mans GTS-winning Corvette, many historic Chapparal race cars, several Mercedes 300SL Gull-Wing Coupes, a 1930s Mercedes 540K, a Spyker, and many vintage Ferrari's.

The great Porsches that were there (pics will follow) were an incredible 550 Spyder, several 718 RSK Spyders, a RS-61, a mega-suhweet 907, a 904 Carrera GTS (ran out of film before I got to that one!!), a Cayenne Turbo, one of 15 factory 356C lightweights, and a plain bad-*** 935. Can't wait to get the pictures scanned and posted! (I know, I am so old-skool)

Here is my first scan...
The Brumos 550 RS Spyder!!! Sorry, I am certainly no professional camera man. I learned a lot just seeing these pictures. But then again, no picture does a $1.2 million car justice.

A 550-inspired Boxster conversion...
Notice the leather straps on the rearward-opening engine bay!

I have a 911 and Porsche World with that 550 Boxster on the cover, and alot of other pics. I'll scan them in in a little while if I can find the mag!

The weather sucked really bad! Hence, a lot of the cars were inside or in the parking garage. The lighting was terrible, so some of these pictures will suck pretty bad. SORRY!

Here is the AWESOME 935! These pictures do this car no justice at all. This thing just looks plain intimidating. It was so suhweet, especially in the black paint scheme. Unfortunately- it sucked for the purpose of taking a picture in the basement of a parking garage. Someone bought this car at the auction, it was not on regular display.

Here is the first Cayenne I have seen in person. really folks, the thing is pretty suhweet. This was the Cayenne Turbo. Unfortunately, I took several angles and this is the only one the even looked remotely good.

Here is a Mercedes 300 SL Gull-Wing. The water on the car kind of made for a neat effect on the hood but made the grille look strange.

And here is the best car at the show... a real live 907K! It raced in the World Sports Car Championship in the mid-to-late 60s.

I'm no car expert or anything but is it just me or is that engine made out of wood?
