Shortly after buying my car and hearing all the stories of engine fires - I bought an extinguisher. I keep it on the floor behind my seat at all times now.

I also replaced the underhood lines with the braided stuff Lindsey sells.

Ditto..but i think i need a bigger fire extinguisher just to be safe.

Its sad. I hate seeing someone go through that. I would lay down and cry. But I look at it like this.... Means one less 944 on the road. and maybe someday the survivers will shoot up in value.

Darwin, Are you back in DFW? Know anything about ball joints / tie rods?

that sucks, mine started leakring after doing belts and cam tower gasket. replaced them the next day.
