I have original steel arms on my 85 with almost 250K miles. I'd estimate about 20 DE track hours as well. I replaced the bushings and ball joints last year and couldn't find any cracks in the arms (liquid penetrant inspection). FWIW....

replaced mine at 66k miles, might do it again at 100k whenever that rolls around (probably next year) for kicks.
