Cool My bling-bling ride (pics)

Ok, now I got some pics of the car with these huge *** wheels mounted. Due to an unfortunate screw-up the tires have a tad too tall profile and are rubbing slightly in the rear, but I'm 100% sure I can fix that by simply moving them a bit inwards.

Rice or not, I'm sure everybody has their own opinion. Please don't flame me too much though

Sami, looks like a nice car. How big are those "huge ***" wheels anyway?

Where did you get that vented nose panel? Looks good.

I'm also liking that rear bumper quite a lot. The U.S. model's really looks like an add-on. You should make a market for exporting used Euro bumpers to the U.S. and you'd probably make a few bucks!

Yeah.. that ride looks PHAT.

And I agree with Ron. In fact I've already got a line on Euro Bumpers front and rear for my 951.

For sure... Nice car.

However those 19s will kill your front suspension (ball joints) and make for a hard ride. But hey, if hard rides and replacing ball joints are what you are into - cool.

deni, the rim diameter won't make any difference in balljoint wear. If he mounts 19" with ultra low profile tyres, he can get the same size wheels+tyres as my 17 inch fuches, with thick rubbers. You maintain the same suspension geometry.

The big thing that kills BJs is lowering the car.

You're right. however, those 19's will kill your tailbone with ride stiffness.

Actually, the ride quality didn't change much from the 16" phone dials I was running for a week or so - weird. The car does feel "heavier" though, which wasn't a surprise since those are quite heavy wheels (in the same league with the Mille Miglia Cup clones)

Rims are 8x19" and 9x19" with ET 49, tires 225/40 front and 255/35 rear (should have been 225/35 and 255/30).

The vented nose was done by some body shop guy here in Finland; it's the stock one with a hole cut in, covered with some mesh. Very good workmanship!

Very nice wheels. If you roll the rear fenders slightly you won't have a rubbing issue. I had to do that when I moved to 17s.

Sami, the car looks marvelous. I really like the "Porsche Club Finland" decal <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

You might also want to upgrade the front caster blocks to handle the larger wheels. I was going to do this when I put 17" C2Ts on my '91 951 cab, but it was already fitted by the factory with the updated kind.

Gotta say that they look GREAT! Can you tell me what you had to do as far as offset goes? Also is the car lowered and finally...how much did it cost you. I was thinking about doing 18 inch wheels on my 951 but was afraid of the bling bling look too.

What make and model are those wheels?
