Post Ice Shark negative battery cable

I met up with Dan(iceshare) this morning and he was kind enough to help me put in my negative battery cable. I only did the negative because I can't afford the full kit yet, but I'm already noticing a difference. My stereo will go louder, before it would cut out at high volume, and my car seems to run a bit better and not shudder when returning to idle. Dan is a great guy and his cables are great! I have an early car, and the factory negative cable is crap! Goodnight all,
Ryan

oh yeah, I also removed my hood pad today as it flaked off all over us while we were installing the cable, man it's nice to see that thing gone.

That dang flaking hood insulation. I still got that crap in my hair. Glad you got that removed.

I'm going to dig your old bare OEM ground straps out of the trash can and run some tests on them. They really are **** poor and everyone with an early car should replace. Replacement makes a difference, as you are seeing.

yeah, I can't believe it, I told my dad how my old negative cable was run and he was shocked, Porsche really dropped the ball on that one. My radio would lose power when turned up really loud and when there was a lot of bass in a song, now I can turn it up as loud as it will go and it doesn't cut out. I'm really surprised how large a difference there is. And i swear the car runs better. Yeah, that hood insulation is terrible, took us forever to get it off, still a little residue, ran out of adhesive remover. Well I'm off to paint my rear lights and get the residue off.
Thanks again Dan!

how much does just the negative cost? I might be able to scrap some cash together after paying for my head rebuild.

The negatives, there are 2 off a new battery clamp, are $44 plus $10 shipping. Wish I could get the shipping down but it is almost the same if I ship 2 pounds or 30, no matter where I go in North America. This is a hobby to help Rennlisters so I don't have a commercial discount account with UPS or FedEx as I don't have 100 packages to ship a month.

With an '83 944, you really want this ground upgrade. If you order tell me what type of firewall cable tie attachments you have. I think you probablly have the better button type that uses a regular cable tie.

Ryan, you used up a whole can of the 3M stuff already? LOL! I'm going to go over and pull your old cables out of the trash can. Should make a distinct picture next to the new ones.

Now don't go saying it increased your HP by 50.

Where can we get a pricelist off all the items you offer IceShark? I want to get some of your kits this spring, but want to kinda price it out a bit (see how much I can afford) before I really look to serious at it.

I picked up my kit from Dan yesterday also, it was nice to stand around in a driveway with several 944's and compare notes. The build quality on the kits is exceptional, Dan does beautiful work. I haven't had time to install yet, I spent the day ripping out a semi-functional alarm out of Sparky... but I took a good look at the existing battery wiring and boy it needs replacing.

Dan, Ryan, It was nice meeting you both.

Thaddeus, it was nice to meet you yoo, glad you took out that alarm, it looked kinda thrown together. I fixed my heater switch today and went driving around for the hell of it. Dan, yeah I used a whole can, that 18 year old adhesive is stubborn. If you have an early car get this cable from Dan!! Well back to the car

Yes, that alarm is the last piece of PO work to go. Now she's clean. Might even pass inspection for a DE.

Thaddeus,

Are you really thinking, other than toying in your mind, about buying a Shark?

That will likely eat you alive in repairs. Unless your young son steals it and totals it out.

Yes. I know what a dangerous obsession the 928 is... but I want one. I just do.
