Post OT: Grand turismo 3 again

I haven't played in a while and I just did for a little while...

The Calsonic skyline with 865hp is very freaking awesome for sliding around...especially on the special stage courses in the wet.

Part of that comes from the fact that it'll break the tires lose extremely easily...and part of it is that it's just very well balanced it seems.

To give this some Porsche content...the Porsche's are cool but I seem to prefer driving other cars in the game...

What's everybody else's favorite drifting/fun driving car?

The Pagani Zonda with 1050 hp and sticky rubber kicks ***. Of course, all of the F1 cars are lots of fun.

Too bad my PS2 is 900 miles away.

The F1 cars really are great me and my friends sit there and do laps and Cote de Azure for hours trying to get the fastest lap.

But as for the most fun cars...
I have a boxster that I have running really well and I did a silvia because i thought it was the closest thing to a 951 in the game.

I much prefer the actual race car setups in game. I got a Toyota GT-1 with 1018hp that sticks like glue with medium tires. I drive that the most. As far as street cars go they all seem to steer and brake very poorly. Definately not doable with the 1000+hp that you can bust out of them. I got a 1089hp RUF RGT and the brakes just don't work nearly as well as the racecars.

I've also got the 1791hp suzuki that you get from finishing all the rally stages. Talk about impossible to drive. Try doing tahiti maze with that thing and you will see how crazy it really is.

I have a 1078 HP RUF RGT that runs a 9.2 in the 0-400 M and a 263 mph top speed. That car is impossible to keep on the ground when you turn the traction control off! reminds me of a 800 HP 993 TT!

I prefer the 1048Hp Toyota Supra. You have to be very sensitive with the throttle. I always race with the traction control turned off, it is just cheating otherwise. I finally have it tuned where it handles pretty well. Another car I really like is the S2000, and the 3rd Gen RX-7. I would love to have either of those in real life. I wouldn't really want a Supra though.

GT3 is the coolest racing game ever!!

c-west razo sylvia is my fav drifting car, best i've ever done in that is the first big arc in special stage 5 in the tunnel, drifted all the way thru that... only replay i have saved

otherwise i like the f1 cars to race with normally... after driving one of those and u go back to a street car, it's like, whoa, what happened?

the 1700hp suzuki escudo, a tip on driving that thing, use the walls, they're great little guide rail sorta things

Cool

Me and some friends are in a feirce battle for best lap on Laguna Seca. I think that our fast lap is a 1:01 something. CurlyDE knows exactly.

What are some other peoples best laps?

I've only been at it for a couple of months, but my current favorite is the Belgian Vertigo Race Car. It looks awesome and handles like a dream. Only about 800hp though.
Laguna Seca and Cote d'Azur are the best tracks.

The RUF cars have brakes?!? Coulda fooled me. They remind me of my '67 mustang...if you wanna stop, you better have plans waaaay ahead of time. While we're on the Gran Turismo thing, is it too cheesy (or ricey) to have a "GT" logo on my 951? The color matches the paint, but I'm just not sure.

Well I just did a few laps a Leguna, best lap 59.8 sec. There are a few ticks to be had in there too, the car set up was a bit off, but I need to work on getting a job, and putting a coat of wax on the 951......

That is in the 94S car....

The 1:01 is in the F688. What race did you win the F94? What happened to the investment job Ian?

I think that our best lap on Laguna was a 1:01.25 ... or something like that. The F688/s is the fastest F1 car that we have at the moment. I have been trying for the F094, but keep winning a damn Skyline instead (I've only tried the Laguna enduro, F094 can be won there). If anyone else knows of another way to get it let me know! Ian, what's your fast time on Cote? All of my friends hate that track and will not race it with me.
