Does it really do anything from there? All of the cooling ducts i've ever done have been mounted to a plate behind the disc.

saw a bad *** 944 s in old town at radio shack it had vented fenders, vented quarter panels, 968 mirrors and handles, chromed turbo twists all with a billy boat exhaust exiting in the center of the rear bumper. navy blue with some primered spots owner came out and he was like a 50+ ... i dont think hes a lister although if you know who he is let me know and also make sure your car has oil pressure before dumping the clutch it is 31* here right now ...

Sorry to deceive you my friend but the cooling duct in the pic is the OE one on a 944 TURBO CUP CAR I don't think it was put there just for look.

Well having been around race cars a fair bit, i've never seen one like that. It doesn't seem very effective. This is the setup we have always used.

It is questionable how much benefit you would get with the air flow that far from the brakes. The 968 had a simple scoop/duct setup that can be retrofitted to a lot of 944s. The lower half attaches to the control arm and deflects air up to the upper half, which bolts to the strut tower and directs air right to the rotor.

the brake cooling duct D.Keshler posted is true brake cooling. the air ducts from the 944 turbo cup car squirt a little air around the tires, but don't really do anything at all to keep the actual rotors cool.

see the vents on the inside of the rotors? those are designed so that air flows into the center of the rotor and outward radially through the vents, so long as there is cool air being SUPPLIED to the center of the rotor.
