Matt,
I see your set up for all Porsches, but only have 944 type cars registered. Are you going to post in the other forums, or should I change my profile to my 951?

Refer to what I wrote before:
I hope the other 2000 Rennlist members, the air-cooled wonders, the 914 folk, and the old school 356 guys like it as much. It needs some polishing before I announce it over there though. But feel free to share it with whomever you'd like
I want to make sure everything works good. This is the "soft" opening. The "Grand" opening will be in a couple weeks I suppose. But feel free to share, I'm just not going to "announce" it until I get several things straight.
By the way, there are a few 968s registered. Also, there is no "951" in the type number selection. You use "944" and then under model you type in "Turbo" - sorry 951 guys, no special designation for you like that. Just not efficient.

judd, I used photoshop to resize images...
there have been some discussions on other cheaper(and I think even free) software that does it.
You can email me em and I'll shrink em down to 70-100k.

I was just browsing around...and I was thinking that you should add email address to the information in the profile so that we can contact eachother once we find their name.

Also, if you guys demand it enough, I may give you TWO (yes 2) profile pages for those of you who have more then one Porsche. That will be later one, but just a taste of things possibly to come.
Hook up.
Excellent site Matt.

EVERYONE!
IGNORE the resizing instructions. I fixed it so you can have the pic as big as you'd like (within reason of course).
I am chaning the size of the pictures requirement to 100kb. It has to be this way, because each one has 6 pictures, that's 600kb of just images. If I left it at 200 that would be 1.2 megs of just images - my server would be hurting after a few hundred members. Please understand.
It just needs to be under 100kb (which again, still is a heck of a lot).
I would greatly appreciate it if you have an image in a jpg format, don't necessarily make it the highest quality with Photoshop. Go with 7 or 8, it's good enough and doesn't take up as much room. 100 is the MAX. I really hate to do it that way, but until I can figure out a way so that you can point images from URLs as well as upload, that's how it has to be.
Thanks,
Matt

Great site. I am going to try and put my car's history in the "Notes". What is the size limit on the "Notes" area?
I know it might be helpful to refer people who are looking to buy a P-car with that age old question "How much have you put into one of these cars?".
Not all of us can have as cool of a site as Perry's not that I would want his(due to the content).

I never really gave much thought to a registry before, but I like it! Awsome sight...can't wait to get my computer all the way back together so I can upload stuff from the camera. Good job!

Matt,
Thanks for providing this free web hosting! I've been trying to find a good ad-free host for a while. I can finally upload and update my site again.
The registry is also a great feature!

Matt, very nice site!
I have a database with all the zip codes in the USA along with latitude and longitude coordinates if you want to incorporate it into the site (For radius searches). Send me a PM if you're interested.
I have programmed a bit of code to automagically resize images, but unforunately, I can't share the code with you :/ However, take a look at ImageMagick (www.imagemagick.org) as they offer a nice command line utility for resizing images. (I have a statically compiled binary if you want it.. it does not require any extra libraries that I know of. The binary is in ELF format for linux.)
The site looks great! Let me know if you need any help with it, I'd be glad to help
