WTB front strut assemblies for 86 951
I found out the hard way that 944 na struts dont fit on my turbo. The previous owner had two different types on the front so the right side sat about 2 inches lower than the left. I think the strut on the left is from a newer car and has that expensive bearing plate on it. Anyways Im looking for something to get my turbo back on the road. I dont care if they are adjustable I just need them to fit. So if you guys have any takeoffs that you want to sell let me know. Thanks.

$175 is a great price for a pair... And sweet jesus, who thought it was OK to run two different strut assemblies?!
You might PM PorscheDoc (Karl) - He's often got spares around that he'd sell, not sure if he has anything at the moment though. Good luck.

Nope, the 86 Turbo jumped to the strut spindle mount spacing of the 87 + NA cars.
I have a set of 86 Turbo konis on my 86 NA that I had to slot the lower mount hole and open up the gap in order to make them to fit.

Mine appear to be just over 63mm center to center. I bought some that dont fit that are about 58. Spindle thickness appears to be different as well. Keep in mind that my car didnt have the aluminum control arms and appeared to have a s2 strut on the left side so who knows what got thrown in there. I measured mine though and they are definitely bigger than 58.

It "works" if all you need are the struts themselves but from what you are saying above it sounds like you have mismatched springs as well.
Just trying to save you another "I found out the hard way" post about how the struts do not dictate the ride height. The springs do.
I had another PM on the struts and springs that I offered you for $175. Let me know by tomorrow if you want them or they are fair game.

Thanks. Yeah my springs are completely different as well. I would rather not have to take them apart if possible. I am currently dealing on some koni's but will pm you tomorrow morning either way about yours.

ahh
Ok. Now I know something else about the strangeness of 86T cars (63mm spread on spindles at strut).
One question I just have to know...Are the 86T struts the same as the EARLY screw cap style for the strut insert?

No, the early insert style struts were only on the 86 and older non-turbo cars. 86 and up turbos and 87 and up N/A cars had the sealed units.
