Thumbs down What is with PAP German Auto Parts

Pap’s auctions on ebay aren’t auction they should be called advertisements. The reserve prices are often what there starting bid is?!? What gives with that?

Any one else fined this irritating? I am now skipping over the auctions that I open and find that PAP is holding because of the lack of ability to potentially find a bargain. I don’t think this is what Ebay is for?

Comments any one?

I agree with you. Add that to their non-existent service and I avoid them like the plague. Sorry, but if I'm spending my hard earned money I want decent service.

I avoid their auctions like the plague. Like you said, they lure you in with those lowball opening prices with ludicrous reserves.

There's another guy on their selling the 944S new trannys. I was bidding on one for about $1300 with lsd back when I was in need. He had a no reserve auction going and I was the high bid. Would you believe the guy cancelled the auction with 45 seconds left. I was up till about midnite to make sure I would win only to have this happen. He e-mails me the next day and offers it to me for $1900. Why eBay started letting sellers cancel auctions at any time is beyond me.

I'll get off my now.

They are not supposed to do that, and you can report them to the 'ebay police'. They will be kicked off of ebay for policy violation.

Yes this happened to me too...I was high bidder on a set of motor mounts and they canceled the auction seconds before the end of the auction. I have called them before on the phone that left a bad taste in my mouth...they made a comment like "That is not worth my time to send you that part...call somewhere else" So I did I called Parts Heaven and they go my money.

Well then I say I will acontinue to avoid PAP and go with Paragon and Partwerks myself

I am glad that i am not the only one irratated by tactics like this. I wish ebay would boot vendors that do that sort of thing. Its not a retail location it is an auction site. Put it up and sell it for what it goes for... No more of this BS of huge reservs or pulling auction by vendors!!!!

I also stay away from PAP.I had won a auction on E-Bay that was for red brake caliper paint from PAP.I payed the next day via PayPal and silly me thought I would receive the product! Now keep in mind it is not that far from Georgia to Florida. After aprox. 2 weeks went by I called and was told it was on backorder.I waited another week and was told it was mailed useing the USPS, and they asked me why I specified the mail service! When I explained that I did not specify who they use for a carrier, they had major brain fade. Two weeks later,no paint!!! I call again and they are confused as to whether they shipped it or not so I am told they will ship it again.Keep in mind I ask for a tracking number each time they say they have shipped and never receive one. After this game going on for aprox. another month I start the painfull process of getting a refund!!!About 12 phone calls later and with the assistance of my credit card company I receive the credit.I would not buy anything from them if they were the last supplier on the planet!!!

I can understand why you guys feel the way you do about PAP. I've been to their facility (not that far from where I live). You'd understand why you were treated the way you were if you visited them.

I too was treated very poorly when there in person. Too bad - they've got a TON of 944s, 951s, etc, etc.

Their loss...

There have been negative posts about them before. my only (first and last) dealing with them was not on Ebay. I ordered a part and for the next five months was not responded to or given the old "it's going to be in next week" routine. Finally cancelled the order-at least they hadn't billed my card.

I'll have to put a good word for them.

I bought LSD tranny from them through ebay. Reserve price was high but I had bad noise from my existing tranny and I needed it.

I went to pick it up and I found tranny damaged in several places. I didn't take it since it was supposed to be in good working order.

They offered to change LSD to another working tranny and I got it within three weeks...

It had oil leak which they fixed later, took the tranny off car and put it back together.

After all they honored their warranty and tranny seems to be working fine. It could have been much more painful.

I haven't had a problem with their pricing, but they certainly couldn't ship me the belts I won on auction.

Get this ... I won the complete set, timing, balance, PS, Alter. for a 951.

First, they send me two correct and 2 incorrect belts. I call, and they send me one more incorrect belt. I call again ... they say they'll sen dthe right ones ... now I get nothing. Time to cancel the credit card charge I guess. Needless to say, I ended up buying the right belts at the dealer after wasting a lot of time.

Their ebay advertising sure didn't make me a long-term customer.
