Default Nose panel removal problem

I need to take the nose panel off my 1986 944 and followed the instructions on Clarks's Garage. I got all the screws off, including the machine screws at side that connect to the fender, yet I can't remove the panel. It seems to be stuck at the bottom, I'm not sure if it just needs brute force or if I'm missing anything. Any help appreciated.

did ya get the ones near the hood crest going in sideways from the headlights?

should be a total of 8 screws (I think. it's been a while so don't quote me on that)

I got a total of 10 screws out, four on top, 2 each in the headlight bay, and one each at the side edge of the panel in the headlight bay. I cannot see any other screws, I even took the bumper off and everything looks loose, yet it won't move.

I think he got those already.

Sometimes the nose panel tends to be wedged in there. Try giving it a good tug (without bending anything) and it should pop out.

ahh. I saw those but they weren't mentioned in the instruction on clark's garage web site so I thought they are not holding the panel. I'll remove them them tomorrow and give it good tug, hopefully it'll come loose. Thanks.

Panel came off easily once I took the two inside screws out. For future reference, the total count is 12 screws/nuts. Thanks for the help.

ah, foolish me. I read wrong... for some reason I read the bolts that connect to the fender corner as being those.

(just trying to keep from looking stupid!)

Glad you got it out.

Thought it would be worth resurrecting this thread. I'm removing my nose panel in order to replaced my power steering hoses. Neither clarks garage nor the 944 shop manual indicates the need to remove a screw that is on the inside portion of each head light. Mine was a 'hidden' phillips head screw on a '88 base model. See step 6 in the link below.
