Default DIY 3" exhaust

Has anyone on here bent up and welded their own exhaust system. Im thinking of replacing stock on my 86 951 with a 3" and it looks pretty simple. It looks like two angle bends and some welding. Is it that simple or am I missing something. I see that most guys are buying the systems and knowing how handy most of the guys on here are I was suprised not to see more homemade systems. Just curious.

most smaller pipe benders only go to 2 or 2.25 pipe. one big enough for 3in takes quite a bit of coin.

My bender does only go up to 2". Big enough for the chopper stuff. That link is great thanks. I didn't see that when I searched.

Is it worth the trouble? I got a muffler shop to put a 3" system from the headers back for about $200

Stainless would be worth it to DIY. The shops charge and arm and leg to do stainless (because its very hard to bend, it pretty much must be welded). Its cheaper to buy the parts you need and weld it yourself.

If just doing regular steel pipe, then its WAY better to have a good shop do it for you.
