Question Is there a difference between 951 vs NA hood/fenders?

I had an offtrack excursion in my 86 951 and need to find fenders and a hood. I wanted to know if there is a difference between the two? Is the 951 fender wider or fits differently due to the bumper skin?

The N/A fenders are designed to conform to the N/A front bumper. They will not match up or look correct along with your turbo bumper. You will need turbo or S2 fenders only.

The hood is a bit easier. Any hood will fit.

The hoods are the same, but the turbo nose fender is different from the N/A fender, which 'wraps around' the bumper, whereas the turbo fender is flush with the front bumper.

NA fenders will need to be modified. They will fit though. I'm pretty sure NA and turbo hoods are interchangeable.

How did it happen? I do hope you weren't hurt.

You likely already know, but the header panel is 951-specific, too (it's nearly an inch deeper in the middle, when viewed from the top than the NA header panel), thus bringing the full 951-specific parts list to: fenders, header panel, headlight covers, headlight surrounds (if needed), bumper.

I transplanted some onto my own car recently, and the hardest part was getting the bumper's trailing lower corners to be the same on both sides. I'm still working on that.

Sorry to see the pic, been there, done that

FYI, I have a gt turbo fiberglass header panel that I'll let go for a good price. It's one piece that does not have provisioning for working headlights.
