Question Were factory 924S engine blocks sleeved from factory?

A guy on another forum has cracked his 924S engine open only to find the cylinders sleeved and scored.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought these engines came from the factory with Aluminum Silicon blocks bored and Nikasil treated with no sleeves?

TIA

correct. No sleeves. At least not when new.

If you are looking at the lines on the top of the block that is dirt. Outside is dirty from the head gasket and the inside is cleaner from the metal fire ring.

Never sleeved and all Alusil. No Nikasil on the 944.

What's up with that weird spot on the outside of #2 (right next to the head stud)? It looks corroded.

That's what coolant with phosphate/hard water/not changing your coolant enough does.
