Anyone Know What This Is?
My dad and I were test driving an A6 the other day, and this particular car had these three lights/indicators on the panel above the steering wheel. I first thought radar detector or something, but couldn't figure out how to control/turn it on, if it was.
Does anyone recognize the parts?

Thanks in advance!

Happened to like 100 cars IIRC.
The lights are most likely part of an aftermarket alarm. The car has 20 some grand on it, so it is possible. Ask the owner.

The car is at a dealership, and the guy had no idea. He thought maybe an alarm, I said maybe radar detector, he didn't know. The PO had some other aftermarket stuff on it, like a Zender/LLTek spoiler (which looks really good IMO), so probably an alarm.
Thanks for the help!

Ya gotta wonder why some people had such a vendetta against Audi.

I'd take the steering-column apart and trace where the wires for those lights go. This will lead to the source and I'm sure they'll be hooked up to some box somewhere that's labeled with its function.

Yeah, right after that, Audi placed their pedals further apart and put in a switch on the brakes; thus requiring them to be on in order to move the shift lever out of park.

This guy probably knows exactly what those are for....it's probably his old car. Anybody remember him from a previous thread?

odds are that it is a radar detector. there are several expensive radar detectors that are wired to the front grill and rear license plate and have the lights on the dash for a more discreet look. check up front and at the back of the car for radar sensors.
