Default S2 intake on the S...anyone actually follow thru?

I did a search, all I see is old threads about guys thinking of doing this to their S.

Has anyone done this yet?

Should be doable. The S and S2 heads are somewhat interchangeable - somewhat means you need to modify the S head a bit to work on the S2 ; but exhaust and intake manifolds are not in that area..

What is the reason to get S2 intake manifold?

The S intake is really a poor design with the weird snorkel for air from the AFM. The part numbers are the same for the gaskets so the intakes should swap out easy...perhaps a new S2 throttle cable, some new intake piping and you'd have a better breathing S engine...gains too?

Well the velocity of the S2 manifold seems a bit bigger so that might result in something.. ? (what) But the changes of S and S2 behavior are in the cams , software and the fact that S2 is 500cc bigger

If you want to try it out I have spare S2 manifold but it's in europe ; cargo might be expensive.

If you're going to bother, then just go straight for the 968 intake which is a resonance intake. Theoretically this is what gives the 968 most of its power over the S2.

How the resonance will behave with S cams and bore/stroke is another question.
