Post s/roof guides

Hi all,
Anyone know how to change the sunroof guides that the riser arms slide into? I looked at it briefly, but it looked like the interior panel also needed to come off. Archives didn't seem to have anything for me, does one of you? TIA,

Jason

I've got a parts car that I've been dismantling and you have to remove *everything* from what I can tell. There is a panel, then the fabric from the headliner. After that, it looks to be smooth sailing

Ok,
Just got around to this swap. So here's my write up for the archive:

REMOVE ROOF (duh)

Deflector Hinge:
1-unscrew the deflector from the hinge piece on one side. 2 screws.
2-unscrew the hinge piece from the headliner, 2 screws and one gold washer backing the piece. slide the hinge off the end of the deflector from below.
3-put in new one on the same side, installation is reverse......
4-do the other side, if you did both at once, the deflector would just flop in the breeze while you switched 'em.

Sunroof Guide:
1-unscrew the 3 screws (with washers) on the back of each guide.
2-to get the guide out, you gotta get the headliner piece detached enough to slide it out; it's held on with some pins that you must gently pry off. (I did it with a blade screwdriver wrapped in elec. tape to cover the sharp edges.)No big deal, just go slow and try not to snap those old plastic pins. My camera was dead, but I made this cheese diagram to show you which ones need to come off to grant enough room to work with the guides.

3-put it all back together.

Jason
