second to watercooled cars, is my favorite: the '94 964 Turbo S, with the same headlights off of the 968! Awesome. But you're right, they are/were more than $50k. Brand new they were $160k, with 968 style lights, cost of factory mod: $60k, car itself, maybe $99k..

I'd love to see other pics of that one...Or does it just look like a 993?

McLaren F1 (oh wait that's 1.6M), gee I'd have to pick a 93 N/A 911, any car would be a 308 series ferrari.

928s don't have as many problems as you think. The main problem is electrical on the early ones. I have an '87 and the only things that hit us hard were timing belts and waterpump and tires. Believe me they EAT TIRES UP! We did have a problem with the electrical and thats because the stupid idiots at Circuit *****ty* grounded out the amplifier to a ground spot onthe relay board causing us to lose operation of the odometer until the ground was removed. Other than that, the 928 is a great car, don't be intimidated by its maintenance. IMHO a 944 Turbo has a higher upkeep than a 928.

I would build an orange 2.7 ltr. carrera with a 3.3 turbo motor to around 430 hp, and have about 25 grand left.

Ribs,

93 was the year to stay away form on the Rx7's, you should hold out for a 94' w/ the R2 package .

The 93's were so much cheaper because they were responsible for 8 house fires, like 30,000 resprays, and just about that many blown motors LOL.

I spent a lot of time looking for a good 93.

$50,000 huh? I'd split it up by buying the nicest example of each of the following....

An 80's Carrera Wide Body, a '86 928. I think the shark lost some of it's charm when it went "aero" aka S4. A late 70's or early 80's Vette. Okay, no flaming I like the body style.

One car for $50K (non-porsche catagory)-probably the newest, lowest mileage Mercedes E320 I could find. Hopefully silver with saddle interior. I've got 2 kids.
