Hehehe I know the feeling, Mark.

I once passed a broken down extended cab, full size suburban, packed with lawn care equipment and two mexicans foolishly attempting to push it home. I was driving in a crowd of SUVs, and NONE of them stopped to help them. I made a u-turn, pulled over, and pulled out my tow strap. I pulled them across town in my 1986 VW Jetta w. 250000 miles on the clock. You wanna talk about strange looks! My clutch wasn't too happy, but I couldn't let anyone try to push a monstrosity like that in summer heat.

I had a 91 VW Cabrio (1.8 liter engine with 04 horsepower) that I attached a single-axle uhaul enclosed trailer to.

Hauled it all the way from Colorado to Florida without any problems. Of course the engine blew two years later at 135k miles but that might have been something else that caused it!
