Exclamation 944 Clutch Problems

Hey Gang,
I have a problem. I just got a 1983 944 (not turbo) and have driven it for 3 weeks. All seemed fine, until this morning. I sat in it, pushed in the clutch, and the was no tension against my foot. The clutch stayed in the 'engaged' postition until I pulled it back out with my hand. The car starts fine and moves through all the gears when it is the 'engaged' position. Seems like its missing a spring or something to keep the clutch out. The weird thing is, it was fine when I parked it and the car has not moved at all since then. Any help or advice would really help.

Thanks in advance!
