Coolant leaking out. Help.
I was at the track and did my 25 minute session with no problems. Parked the car and all was fine. Walked away and when I came back there was a puddle of coolant under the car. When it cooled off I opened the radiator cap and heard some gurgling. Jacked car up to see where coolant was leaking from and didn't see any obvious signs. It seems as though the coolant might be coming out of the overflow hose. There was some evidence on parts as if it blowed back while I was driving. Filled it up and took the car out for 2 laps and parked it. All was good. Took it out for the next session (about 20 minutes). When I parked it I looked and no drips. Walked away from the car and when I cam back there was another puddle of coolant. (my friend who came in 5 minutes after me saw the puddle). ut car up on trailer and saw some dripping from rear of oil pan but I am assuming that was just from the coolant blowing back from where it was leaking.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

had a similar problem with an RX7. it was the valve between the overflow tank and the radiator. coolant went into the tank and wasnt returning to the radiator.
this would make sense because while you are on the track the coolant stays cool. when you stop things get warm, it goes to the overflow tank and cant come back into the radiator.

Changed radiator cap. Took it for a short ride and noticed some dripping and coolant smell. Next morning I let it run till it warmed up and then shut it off. I noticed the coolant was bubbling in the overflow tank. Is this normal?

This is on your turbo? How long was the coolant in the expansion tank "bubbling"? The electric turbo water pump runs for about 30 seconds after shutoff and makes the coolant in the tank look like it's boiling.
I agree with the above though...change the cap. In fact, buy 2, they are cheap and it's good to have a spare laying around.

You didn't answer my question about the temp gauge. Is it showing normal?
If it's normal, you might have a leak somewhere in the system which will prevent it from pressurizing, and allow the coolant to boil. Have it pressure tested.
