Post Another offset question

I have a chance to get a set of dirt cheap 16x8 wheels off an early 944, what kind of spacers or whatever will i need to fit them on my 88 944?

Unfortunately, spacers would have the opposite effect of what you need. The early wheels will stick out more (?25mm more) than older ones, even without spacers.

sticking out more is good, i want to fill out the fender wells more and i was thinking about putting spacers to do just that... What (if any) are the negative effects of running early offset wheels on a late offset car?

As far as I know, they'll stick out too much, but I could be wrong. Perry was thinking about putting some fuchs (early offset) on his 951, and had some plans for cutting/grinding/etc. the wheel so they would fit. I would guess this means you couldn't just bolt things up and have them merely "fill out" the wells.

Assuming i bolt the wheels onto my car tomorrow and it sits fine when i lower it will having the incorrect offset wear out suspension parts faster or negatively affect handling?
