semi-ot: deer repellent
anyone ever try this <a href="http://www.americanhornet.com/index.html" target="_blank">deer device?</a>
Seems to actually be scientific, I am looking for some piece of mind on those late interstate drives...

I haven't followed the newest gagets - but I can tell you that up to ~1997 my parents have tried absolutly Every product on the market and not a single one of them worked (they live in a very densly populated deer/wildlife area in Wyoming). I remember that my dad said one even seemed to attract deer (he turned it on one day when out hunting - heh... within minutes he saw the first deer of a long day).
Me, I've seen my parents waste money on these things - I just bought better headlights (IceShark) and drive reasonably.

Does it work for dogs as well? I almost hit one on Saturday night in Pennsylvania. Don't know what he was doing on the highway but at least I know my brakes work very well. If he had pants on, he definately stained them.

It is NOT scientific. There isn't a trace of a description in any of their literature or web site as to what principle it uses. And, the company refuses to answer even the most basic scientific questions.
I too still rely on good headlights.
