Default 944 Turbo Cup wheel fitment question...

Hey there guys,

Trying to figure out which spacers an '86 944 Turbo Cup calls for when equipped w/ the Mag. Turbo Cup 'Dials?

et52 - 16x8" (Front)
et57 - 16x9" (Rear)

Any help is appreciated!

Shouldn't require any if the turbo cup wheels are from an 86 (..I'm not familiar with what years the TC's existed). If they are from a later year you'd need 29mm spacers to convert from the 23.3 offset of 86's to the 52.3 offset later offset

Thanks Alex,

That's what I needed to know. I'm guessing these are from a '87+ Turbo Cup.

Much appreciated!

Do they make 29 mm spacers? I have seen 1 inch spacers, which is close to 29mm. (1.14 inch vs. 1 inch)

I am in the same boat, i had planned on purchasing 1 inch spacers on ebay.

Good question!

I'm wondering the same thing...As finding '86 specific, Magnesium Turbo Cup wheels is going to be really, really difficult.

You should be fine with 1" (24.5mm) spacers. They'll just sit in a tiny bit more. I'm not too familiar with spacers though but I image you could find some 30mm easily which would work fine too.

Ebay has half dozen suppliers that sell 1'' spacers for a Porsche. I had thought about calling wheel enhancement, but assumed they are very expensive.

Also i am not familar with his wheel in question. I first thought he was talking about a 911 wheel.

thanks jpc

The 1986 Turbo Cup cars came with 16x8" 951 Fuchs for the front and 16x9" 930 Fuchs for the rear.

There were no early offset magnesium phone dials ever made.

Thanks for clarifying that. That actually makes some ounce of sense...I was beginning to wonder if they even made a early offset Mag. Phone-dial, as I'd never seen/heard of them.

I just ordered 1" spacers off ebay...from the dealers you're talking about. They only fit over the rear hub NOT the front. They arent tapered to allow for the front dust cap. I had to order a different pair from a Porsche specialist for the front. I cant remember the name though. I will post it later....

BlackOP,

So you purchased a set of 1'' spacers off ebay, who was the company? (W.E.) I have never heard of the front dust cap problem.

Please post the name of the specialist for the front. I am glad your posted this note.

PS do you have an extra set of 1'' spacers forsale?

THANKS! jpc

Yeah...I initially ordered 1.25" spacers x 4. I sold one pair and have the other on Ebay as we speak. I am putting on 993 cup II... 7j and 9J. The rears are 255 so I was worried about rubbing after looking at them on. If you are running 8J, they would probably work on the back. It was weird as I ordered from three different dealers last week and all had the same design. Luckily when I was installing them, a friend had an extra spacer that fit perfectly. We compared them and they are definitely a different design.

i ended up ordering the fronts from http://www.betterbodiesmotorsport.co...1/spacers.html

If you look at them they are a straight shot and clear the front dust caps. The ebay ones are cut at a 90 degree angle about an inch inside and it catches the cap. The rears are fine though. This has been a major PITA so hope this saved you some trouble.

Yeah, i looked at the company on ebay you purchased from, but decided to go with a 1'' instead.

I am suprised several of the companies are making these wheel spacers wrong. I always like BB, they are more of a 911 store. There spacers are pricey, but if it works, its worth it.

Post pictures before and after when time permits.

thanks jpc

Black Opp....did you get your new spacers installed as of yet?

2nd, i have a dumb question. When installing the hub kit, does the studs from the car extend through the spacer? If yes, what is done next? I would hope i would not have to ground off the studs length.

Please advise....

thanks jpc
