Anyone have a mechanics pit?

Yeah, you don't want to go eating asphalt - locally they are/were using the residual sludge from the waste treatment plant as the filler. Guess that is one way to get rid of it. More heavy metals in that than a rock band.

A friend of mine picked up a free lift when a K-mart was closing their auto shop. He had to take it down, haul it and then install it, but hey, it was free. Might be worthwhile to check if there are any such places closing down just in case.

I like the Kwiklift, I bookmarked the site and am going to do some head scratching on that (I have an indoor garage) At a VARA race in Palm Springs many years back I saw a freestanding above ground lift that you could drive a car onto lift that car into the air and drive a second car under it. They were promoting it as making two parking spaces out of one but I was thinking it would be great for working on cars. Has anyone else seen such a thing? I had a brochure from them but it is tucked away with a brochure from some guys who will hand build a cobra coupe for you ($$$) yeah right!
