No one really needs the TV weatherman anymore. We have all of that information at our fingertips online or on our cell phones. We go to the weatherman for his personality, plus it gives us someone to blame when the weather predictions are wrong. My favorite thing about the TV weatherman that's slowly disappearing is the green screen background report. We see a map with the weather report on our TV, but the meteorologist is standing in front of a blank screen and looking at a TV off to the side to see what he's pointing at. Now that TV stations are getting new equipment, there are fewer vague weatherman gestures towards smiling suns and frowning rainclouds. I preferred having my weather read to me while a guy looked off to the side; it was easier to stare him down when his reports were off.
