Preferably somewhere in the Bay Area, but I'm willing to travel within Cali. My standards are very high, but I'm willing to spend the cash if I find what I want.
What I'm looking for...
* Under 90k
* Records, receipts, maintence completed i.e. timing belt/clutch/water pump/etc, etc
* Mechanically in excelent shape
* Preferably stock
blah blah blah. I think you get the picture. btw, any suggestions on places to look other then the Rennlist? I check <a href="http://www.cars.com" target="_blank">www.cars.com</a> , <a href="http://www.sfgate.com" target="_blank">www.sfgate.com</a> , <a href="http://www.craigslist.org" target="_blank">www.craigslist.org</a> , Ebay motors, & Autotrader
weekly. Any help is appreciated.

You could also check the pca-ggr classifieds. thought i saw something in walnut creek a while ago.. i also do searches on craigslist every couple of days just for fun. (search term is "porsche") sometimes i email people and give them tips or help them out when their info is obviously incorrect.
anyhow.. a good thing to do is also consider all and every resource possible in socal/el lay. there's latimes.com (cars.com?), craigslist.org (la), pca region web sites down there and also in san diego. i went with my brother twice to get his bimmers in la (nick alexander, long beach/s. central la?)... the drive back makes it worth it. you have to realise that there are a hell of a lot of cars down there.
there are a ton more people down there than up here, so it only makes sense (it's a freeway thing)...
then there's germanusedcars.com and autos.yahoo.com, sfgate is weak.... sfstation is another tool for just having fun btw.
lastly, it may take a long time to find one that you really want to buy ("weekly" is nothing, in the final final), i guess the best advice is to not be hasty! just ask some people here how long they waited to get theirs.
terms for other people doing searches on RL: search Northern Southern California 951 944 turbo porsche san francisco los angeles pca-ggr wtb

You will have much better luck expanding your search to include L.A. and San Diego. I found my car in Carlsbad and made the seller an offer the first day the ad was in the paper (see my cardomain page for full details). There are a lot of black 951's out there. You will find what you are looking for if you keep looking. Also as the others have said, don't be hasty. Take your time and wait for the right one. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I'm in no rush. Hell I don't even have the cash to pay for it till I get rid of the E320.
SD or LA is not a prob. I have family members there that can go check out the car and have a PPI done.
btw, if the car needs a paint job that's ok. Doing a complete color change is a PITA though and my mind is set on black. Also, the condition of the seats are irrelevent as they will be coming out either way
.
oi-punx: Sell me your 951. Looks very clean
