Default AC hose routing Q

Does anyone have any decent photos showing how the AC lines are routed on the later cars? I may be re-making these the lines for my (early) car and would like to see how they routed things to get the low pressure side service port up next to the coolant tank. I did look at the PET and it doesn't make it very clear.

Thanks very much Ross. After the lines go over the brake booster they dip down behind the air-oil separator. Is there any obstacle back there I can't see in the photo?

Maybe it is just me, but I hate the service ports being next to the strut tower... makes fitment for a strut brace a bear...

The routing into the A/C unit (thru firewall) is different on early and late, so the last bit will be different for a custom. No real obstacles other than the usual things... heater valve and hoses. If you are asking why they dip down, I'd guess it is to get them out from behind the other wiring and brake lines and stuff that is up high on the firewall.

They changed them between 1986 and 1987 too. The low pressure port on 1987+ was moved back down by the compressor.

Are there differences between factory and dealer-installed?

If I were an A/C tech, I'd shoot any engineer that put the ports down on the compressor.

It did occur to me that it would make things difficult for a strut tower. It appears that the low and high hard lines go through the firewall, unlike the early car which has only the low side hard line do that. I'm planning to use steel tubing since it is apparently much easier to braze. We've got some tubing benders I can borrow at work. I'm also going to make it so the lines are 2 piece with an o-ring union to facilitate installation and removal. Does anyone have a set of these lines (like Ross's) from a parts car for cheap? I'd like to try and copy the bend patterns.

I never was able to find any Sabatie. Maybe one of the guys parting an early car can take some photos with the engine out... I re-used the hard lines but cut off the old fittings and brazed on new ones (and crimped new hoses on).
