Post Source For Porsche Licensed Floor Mats?

Does anybody have a source for Porsche licensed floor mats for a 944?

I have been searching for a while, and have found nothing. Not much in the Rennlist threads or in Google...

All help appreciated!

Gundo,

Those are the Tequipment mats which I have(in Burg.), I am not too pleased with their overall quality. They are thin and have a foam backing, I have had mine for about two years now and they show noticable wear in the pedal area, and the "Porsche" is nearly indistinguishable because of the yarns fraying. If I did it again, I would go with Lloyd's. Just a heads-up.

PS--That pic does NOT show 944 mats--they look like 968??

Since we are back on this topic, haas anyone been able to find a replacement rear deck mat that is like the OEM. All I have found is a partial matt (Lloyds) that does not wrap up the sides (with the snaps), and over the spare tire.

Also, I need mine in silver velour color - option that came with 1988 Special Edition models (light gray is too dark).

As I understand it, you can no longer get the "PORSCHE" logo on mats from Lloyds (or any where else for that matter). The only way to get PORSCHE on the mat is to buy them from your local dealer. Seems Porsche wants the crumbs as well as the cake!?

I'm disappointed because the black mats are not available with PORSCHE in red, like you use to be able to get from Lloyds. Does anyone have the new Porsche factory mat? I'd like to know how the yarn thickness compares to Lloyds.

GPR is a pretty good source for the mats.

Hendrick Porsche has Porsche mats for $95 + $7 shipping. (Retail is $129.95.) I bought black with black Porsche logo. They ship in a cool Porsche box too. Their number is 800 315 8193.

Flight,
How thick are the Porsche mats? Is there a yarn count, or pile depth, etc. marked on the mats?

No markings that I can find. The carpet seems thick to me and have the rolled thread edges like in the photo above. They do have a grey foam backing and stay put. Plus the authorized Porsche logo (no crest) on the front. When I bought them, the logo was only available in the color of the carpet, no color combos.

(The quality is remarkably similar to a replacement set I bought for my previous BMW 750iL about 18 months ago. Same manufacturer maybe?)

I replaced the original Porsche mats from 1988 with these. If I had to guess the originals seemed a little thicker, but they were getting bunched up in areas so thicker didn't seem better at the time. Fit of the new set is perfect. I could have spent more but these are working out well so far. Hope this helps.

I presume you bought these at a Porsche dealer. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for those. I would like to know how the price compares to the aftermarket carpets.

My previous post said $95 + $7 shipping. (The retail price on the receipt was $129.95) Hendrick sells everything WAY below retail. I also bought brand new Porsche control arms for $368 last summer from them. Retail is over $500.

I had been looking around throughout the aftermarket and eBay for mats and with ridiculous shipping prices (some people wanted $17 shipping!) a set was about $125-$150. I went with these and they are working out well so far.

DOH!
My bad.
I'll check with Hendrick, does the driver side floor mat have the flap that covers the foot rest on the left? The mat in my car has that but the pictures I have seen do not show it.
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks for the info Flight.

For any of you in the Porsche Club - it's August and the $100 off Gift Certificates are now valid!
I need two sets of mats, so I'll likely use the certificate and get them both at the same time.

Nope, no flap. Also, there is no heel pad on the driver's side either. The picture above is very similar to the set I have but they are black in the correct shapes for the 944/951 floor. I bought them in January so hopefully the price is still the same. Hendrick has been great. Lately, they have been so busy that occasionally I have to leave a voicemail but they always call right back. The savings is worth it.
