Question Throttle cable help

I am down to the last couple of details on my 83 NA, the throttle cable in the car has the standard barrel end, the cam on the motor seems to require a tapered end cable. Can someone tell me if they offered different kinds or do I have another problem.

I bought the car with the motor sitting on the garage floor, it had been replaced when he wasted the original by overheating.

Should be the same - only difference in cables is either for auto or man tranny - then it's only a matter of length I think. Here's a pic:

Any help?
