Question 1989 Porsche 944 Question

Hello,
I have been shopping for a 944 turbo, but I can't find any at the moment.
I own a 944 1985 right now.
I want more power, and I want a car in better shape.

I found a 1989 Porsche 944, in Excellent condition.

I've read that in 89, the engine of the ordinary 944 was a 2.7L, different than
mine right now (2.5L). I also read that this 2.7L gave slightly more HP,
but a lot more torque.

Is that true? Would I be happy switching from a 85 to a 89.

Thanks

Eric

if you want to move up in power skip right over the 89 and wait til a turbo shows up. driven one, not impressed really except for off the line. if you want power go for a 951.

only reason to get an 89 imo is to sell the head...

Or, rather, to keep the head and sell the rest of the car. I missed 2 '89's locally for cheap that I wanted to do that on. Are not many of them around.

besides the engine, nothing really special about an 89, just "another NA"...

Sorry about my french, but what do you mean by ''imo'' and ''the head''.
If it's a joke, I did get it.
thanks

imo = in my opinion

And selling the head, is actualy selling the head of the engine, they are worth good money

I have an 89 and it does pull right off the line better than a stock 2.5L. But it's nothing to write home about. If having power is something you consider necessary then go ahead and get the turbo or an S2.

What does N/A means.
