That's the quote from Weissach, and I was thinking they would be cheaper - but I need one!! ASAP.

Anyone able to supply one cheaper? Or point me to a cheaper supplier?

I'm guessing I should go with a NEW part since it's a sensor.

Got anything against splicing in a universal sensor? Bosch 13913, about US$40... what is that, about CAD$174.95?

what do you mean splicing in a new one? Buying the O2 plug, and using the existing wires?

Does Lordco or UAP/NAPA sell them?

paragon sells the universal
and its an easy install/splice
even i did it, and its the only think ive ever done on my car well, pretty much!

get one, not worth paying ~200 for the oem when this is exactly the same one with no connector at the end.

Rich
I replaced my O2 last year with a universal.
Cost 1/3 of bosch. The important thing is to
ensure that the wire length is identical to
original when you splice it in <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Good timing on this thread! I was wondering about the universal sensor, thanks for the part # K27. Now, I've tried to unthread mine from the pipe but even with a foot long breaker bar, it wouldn't budge! Is there a danger of the sensor snapping in two if too much grunt is applied trying to remove it? Help!

The Haynes manual, FWIW, suggests warming the car up if the O2 sensor is stubborn.

I'll go with Lance's 15725, becuase he's got an 86 turbo like me.

944Play has an n/a and that may make a difference, considering the O2 sensor is behind the turbo in my car, and there is no turbo in an n/a.

Only use the Bosch universal with the special connector. The outside reference air must reach the inside of the sensor.

Tom, how do I know which is the special connector, and which isn't?

"outside air must reach inside of sensor"

should I look for a hole or something like that on the outside of the sensor?
