Default Need help getting into the central console - 924S

I need to get behind the central console to work on the heater issue. (heat always on)

I've tried to follow the sketchy instructions at Clarks Garage, and I've attempted searches here, 924.org, and Paragon as well. Either my searching skills are lacking (probable) or they info is some secret meant to drive us newbies nuts...

I remove the two screws on the top of the console. That part seems to come loose, but while I can pull it forward a bit, the bottom of that section is stuck. How do I get it off? I don't want to break it, so I need to know what keeps it in place.

PET seems useless for this, and I can't find a manual for sale. I have some books, but they don't have any pics or other help.

This is getting bad...I can't go any where with the car now 'cause it's way too hot in the car even with the top off.

Thanks,

Mark

Did you remove the ****, sliders and panel from the climate control? Also, the unit is pressure fitted on in addition to the screws.

This might help. Go to 944online.com parts, click on the 944/2 car and go to the bottom left click on FAQ and down to #14. I don't know if it is the same on your car.

Cheers,
Larry

Thanks, Michael.

When I've gotten the screws out, it it obvious that the first part out is the top portion, which contains only the guages. The climate stuff is the next step, and comes out seperately. BTW, the temp slider comes off easity, the other two are both firmly connected.

Thanks, Spencer,

Stout, yes.

Which direction do I pull? Will I need new clips after?

Thank you,

Thank you, Larry.

I had forgotten their site.

Not my system. My HVAC system is same as the early 944 (pre-1985.5).
