Default cruise control

Hi, I was wondering if anyone on here would know what the rating is for the red capactior in the cruise control brain. I am trying to see if I can get it working. Thanks in advance.

Offhand I'm not sure - I took a brief look over the wiring diagrams and I'm not seeing any info related to that in there. Do you have an early '85? I have an early cruise brain that I don't need. It was working when the car was totaled...if you're interested let me know what seems like a fair price to you.

The car is an early 85 although I was hoping to fix it since it is only one capacitor that is bad than buy another one. The cruise control isn't that important to me but I would like to get it working.

Seems odd now that you have written about the cruise control. I don't remember ever using it on the Porsche. I don't know if mine works or not. I'll have to try it if I think about it.

Cheers,
Larry

Default Cruise Control Brain

Most of the components on the cruise control board have markings that represent the "spec" of that component. Lots of internet companies sell similar components. Try NEWARK. I purchase most of the components; but haven't yet begun the replacing.

If others aren't interested, I might be. I am collecting parts to retrofit cruise into my 924S. I don't yet have the "brain" so I could use it.

Don't have much cash (5 kids in college/grad school).

I had replaced the electrolytics (blue ones) but it didn't fix it. Re-soldering the board and fixing a bad ground on the back of the instrument cluster did fix it. Still working after 4 years,,,
