Hello everyone -- I know I haven't been on these boards as much, but I've been in contact with John Dixon regarding another P-car outing to his slice of automotive heaven on earth, the Taj Garaj.

In keeping with the spirit of previous events, folks should expect to bring ten bucks and as many pop tabs as you can find for the Ronald McDonald House -- for what you get to see up close and personal, this a great deal!

John has informed me that between prior commitments and other folks reserving the place, the soonest he can open his doors to us would be October. Looking at his event calendar, Oct 17th, 24th, and 31st are all open as well as every weekend in November. I'm getting married November 28th, and have been warned that if I schedule this on the same day she'll ...something something, I'm sure it'll come back to me.

Anyways -- my question to you folks is this: Ohio weather being the nasty unpredictable thing that it is (sometimes), how many of you would want to head out to Dayton in October? Again, I'm just trying to get a feel for numbers before I secure a date with John. He doesn't care if you guys come in Porsches or Pintos, but we agreed many of the rennlisters see this as an opportunity to bring their cars out and have a mini car show before we head inside.

So, what are your thoughts? In the poll if you could pick the two weekend dates that would work best for you, this would make things easier for me -- and it should ideally help us get the most folks out to Dayton!

Sorry xsboost90. I appear to be on just the opposite schedule. Early October would be preferable but am tied up until mid Nov. If nothing else I hope to check out things out as part of the Dayton Escape. Thanks for trying to set something up TG. - Travis

I'm free pretty much anytime past september that I know of. Set a date and I'll probably be able to make it....been wanting to go for a few years.

Thanks all -- I'm assuming with 42 views that a fair amount of people have already seen this -- I'm going to give it a few days and e-mail John with the weekend dates that work best for folks sometime Sunday after I get back from the ALMS race at Mid Ohio, so if there's a weekend in particular that you guys can definitely make, please let me know! Otherwise you'll have to wait until next year.

Eh, okay folks. I've had a few family emergencies taking precedence the last month and a half, so I apologize for not getting on for a while. Here's my thoughts:

I couldn't make a decision based on seven votes. This is my fault, I should have posted this to the OT forum. That's my fault, but I'm going to make sure you guys don't suffer for it.

A few of you were worried about other events, DEs and such interfering with this and I know some enthusiasts will be headed for the Dayton area already for an event in October/early November (I forget which.) Either way, I just got off the phone with John, and in a nutshell he told me to get back with him after I get married in November and we'll set a date for a cruise in /GTG sometime early Spring. This way, most of the Ohio winter will (hopefully) be past us and more people will be willing to head out to the Garaj.
