Post Another Ripped Off Huntley Customer!

Well, I'm sad to say that despite intiially positive feedback on dealing with Derrek at Huntley it has taken a turn for the worst.

I had initiallly bought a used S2 sway bar on ebay from him. Looking at a few web pages it looked like a 25.5mm bar was the smallest bar that came on those cars. That seemed like a decent upgrade on my 22mm bar, I would have preferred a 27mm, but 25.5mm was fine. I emailed him prior to bidding about the size and got no response. I made a mistake and bid on the bar without getting confirmation of size. My bad

I get the bar and it turns out to be a 24mm bar. I email him and ask him if there was a mistake and is he sure that this bar came off of an S2. He says the website link I showed him is wrong and they came with a 24mm bar on the M030 option. "No problem he says". Just send me the bar back and I'll refund your money. At this point I'm still pleased with his service.

I send the bar back, it arrives via FedEx on the 10th of July. I have now sent 8 emails and have not been able to get in touch with him via phone. He has not refunded any of my money and has apparently left me hanging out to dry. I can't leave negative feedback on ebay because its been more than 30 days, and I can't challenge the paypal payment because I originally received the item. <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />

All in all, I just want to say that I'm thoroughly dissappointed and I reallly was hesitant about purchasing this bar when the username was huntley....but i did anyways, and it looks like I got shafted for it.

"If you wish to leave a comment about a specific buy or sell transaction and want it to count as transaction-related comment, you have 60 days after the end of the auction to do this. You can still send in feedback after 60 days, but eBay cannot promise that your comments will count towards a specific transaction."

Actually, you have 90 days...go to "My Ebay" and click in the box that says "Feedback for transactions in the past 90 days"...

I got that from e-bay's FAQs, so I'm not sure which is right. Typical.

You probably should give him some more time to credit your account. 20 days is not really that long. In a perfect world, refunds would be instant....

The 944 S2 came with a 26.8 mm tubular bar in both standard and M030 form. The 24 mm tubular bar was optional on the standard 944 Turbo.

I wish you luck in getting your money back. My one and only dealing with Huntley Racing was a disaster...

Are you talking about anti-roll bars or torsion bars? I believe that standard S2 had 26.8-mm front anti-roll bars, and 25.5-mm torsion bars.

I was talking about sway bar sizes. The sway bar(front) that he sent was a 24mm diameter bar. According to the link below and some of the people on this board, the smallest front bar an S2 came with is 25.5mm.

In regards to 20 days not being enough time. Ha ha haa. I don't know about that one! I'll have to strongly disagree there. If I have to pay within 7 days of closing the auction, he should be able to at the very least respond to one of my emails or phone calls within 20 days. I don't think this is too much to ask. Furthermore, this wasn't a credit card transaction...this was all done through paypal, which means he should be able to pay rather quickly. Sorry, but in my mind his only opportunity to shine has really diminished here.

In Canada, I can go online and see credits within a day or two. Very helpful when you're trying to straighten things like this out. But then, Canadian banks and credit card companies are light years ahead of most US banks for this type of thing. One of the few.

i have noticed the same thing about US banking system. In Canada the system is almost as close as we have here in Finland. We have had internet/online systems almost ten years for all of our banking needs. We can also do most of our banking with mobile phone(wap & sms).I can't even remember when was the last time i actually went to the bank...Just remember, it was last december when i needed some canadian dollars
It's easy to travel here in europe since most of the countries have the same currency.

Actually, both my Bank One and MBNA cards show transaction updates every minute, so that when a transaction occurs on my card, I can see it online 1 minute later. You cannuks need not try and put us lazy Americans down, one day Canada will be a star on our flag
