Angry What Next???TPS?

ARRRGHHH!! Just picked the car up yesterday from an alignment(after DIY A-arm replacement) car feels great, HUGE improvement. I am feeling good--today it is gorgeous, so I decide to bring car to work--fire it up this morning, idle jumps to 2K rpm, back to 1K rpm, up to 2k, etc..--you get the idea--so is my TPS on the way out? If so, anyone have a DIY procedure for replacement? Also drove over newly painted center lines on a local road and now have unwanted yellow "graphics" along lower sides of my car and in wheelwells(Thanks PENNDOT), AND my freakin' speaker /grounding problem resurfaced!!AND the car just rolled over 100K(which isn't a bad thing). So can anyone help with the idle? Thanks --sorry for the slight rant, I know alot of you have bigger problems, but I thought I FINALLY had everything 100%.

Duh...

Anyway.

Depress the wire going to the TPS/Throttle body. You should hear an audible "click" just as it comes off fully closed.

If it don't click -there's the issue - TPS is either out of adjustment (loosen the two mounting screws, and adjust till you hear a click) or bad.

If you do hear a click, then it could be your idle stabilizer...

HTH!

No prob man!

TPS is on the throttle body - where the tube from the intercooler enters the engine. Look for a black box on one side of the throttle body, and that's the TPS.

The idle stabilizer is under the intake manifold. You can jumper it out of the picture by using the test connecter (I forget which pins though.. sorry) to see if that's the problem too. I'm sure someone out there (Danno? Skip?) will remember which pins. I want to say B and C on the plug, but don't know for SURE.

thanks!

B & C in the test port.

Picture of the test port with labeled ports is here:

when you take out your idle stabilizer valve and clean it (brake/electric motor cleaner or carb cleaner) make sure you get all your vac hoses/lines connected again... d'oh!!! sounds to me like its the ISV... happy hunting idle... NOT
