Wink Is this abnormal behavior?

Okay, when vacuuming out the 944 some time ago, I noticed a lot of crap under the front seats, but no vacuum attachment in the world will get under there to clean it out, so today I removed the seats to give it a good going over. So I ask, is this normal behavior for a P-car owner? 'Cause my wife thinks I'm nuts. For those interested, I found 7 cents, the cap to an ink pen and a comb.

Here's my car without the driver's seat (post vacuum): <img src="http://members.***.net/nixwiz/images/driver_no_seat.jpg" alt=" - " />

That is one CLEAN '84 interior!!

Did anyone see that several new cars are coming out with the same retro type guages as the early 944/924's? Forgot which car it was, but the interior looked really similar to Todd's!

Ok, i have to ask- I thought I was nuts to want to remove my seats to clean as well. where are the seat bolts located? and what size? I guess im getting to old to crawl aroung in 20 degree weather anymore for such an obviously obsessive thing.

The bolts are in between the tracks the seats slide on. You need an allen wrench...IIRC.

The state of the interior is one of the reasons I purchased this particular car about 7-8 months ago.

My seats are held in by 4 hex head bolts (10mm head), 1 in the front of each rail, 1 in the back. Just slide the seat all the way back, remove the fronts, slide it forward and remove the rears. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Todd--I remember when you first posted the pics when you got the car! Sweet color (I think I said that already)!!

Have you had to put any work into it (other than cosmetic)?? How do you like it?

I've only done minor work on it so far, gave it a tune up, changed the oil a few times, replaced a headlight motor relay and a power window switch, installed new hood shocks, and installed a KLA strut brace. I took it into the shop a few months after I got it and had them give it the once over and everything was fine.

As for the car, I love it. I took it out last month to a DE at Phoenix International Raceway and had a blast, I'm going again next weekend.

I to have taken the seat out to vacuum underneath.

DE at PIR Last month! & Going for the Club Race.

Very nice.

I drive the #94 Spec car and will be out there next weekend too.

BTW I think I know your car.
Hmm, Let me think, Repainted in the last 2 years, Previous owner was a PCA member older lady named Doris??

Kind of funny. I was at the PCA concour in 2001 and saw this nice red 951 with a vented nose panel and polished 928 Flat Disc Wheels. Looked at it and Looked again and then realized it belonged to friend of mine. We went on some pretty intersting drives. Heck I knew the Previous 2 owners. The new owner was bit surprised.
After that I learned that the owners may change, but the cars stay the same

I remember speaking to you about your car at PIR on that Saturday. There was a lot of attrition from the Spec race as I remember.

As for the previous owner of my car, it wasn't Doris.

I'm only going to the DE on Sunday this time, maybe I'll run into you then.

Sorry for not doing so earlier. I don't think I saw your car at that time. It can get pretty busy at the races.

Yeah Saturady saw alot of attrition, but all expect for the black/yellow #44 was very minor. Everyone else ran fine the next day. It was actually a very good race sunday!

Sunday should be intersting with DE groups and 5 races (2 PCA Sprints, 1 PCA 60 Min Enduro, 1 NASA & 944-spec sprint and 1 NASA 944-Spec 60 Min enduro).

Glad to hear you had good time and decided to come back. I was in your shoes in few years back doing a couple DE's here and there with my Turbo. It was really fun and I got hooked. Did a bunch of DE's and Autocrosses. That led to my race car.
