Default X Post: Changing / Shifting Mirror???

Has anyone had to replace or change their rear vision mirror on the windscreen? I want to shift mine closer towards me for a couple of reasons. One, I have always found that the degree of neck twist (that's a tech term) too much and I can't see why it couldn't work if it were 6 or so inches closer to me. Secondly it would allow better viewing for in car video.

Basically is there any issue to note when trying this? Also is there a smaller mirror out there that would do just as good, if not a better job? Maybe slightly convex.

thanks

Well sorta, but it's a bit hard to tell what's going on there. What's with the Blue?
Not sure how big our stock mirror is either. I'll have to measure it, but that one is 270mm across, which is about 10.5" so it's not small. Thanks for looking though John.

Your car had no rearvision mirror Spencer? So was there anything left or a sign of it having been there?
What I'm concerned about is damaging the screen in removing the stock one, and what sort of bonding agent to use to re-apply a base closer to me eyeline?

the little metal block that the mirror hangs off of was still on the glass, but the actual mirror housing itself was gone lol

i dont remember, this was in late 2005, but i think it popped off pretty easily.

the mirror kits come with a new mounting block and the right glue stuf
