Exclamation Turbo Twist Wheels

Question: On the Turbo Twists, do they have directional twists (i.e. a left and a right side???) or are they pointed in the same direction independently of the side of the car in which they're installed??? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

They all go the same direction.

That sucks!!! They should go in opposite directions, at least that's how it should be to look simmetrical...

Yeah, I always was curious about that. Since they have a propeller shape to them, would having all of them with the same twist cause your car to drift sideways since one set of wheels will be pushing in and the other side pulling out? As for the aesthetics, have you ever seen the left & right sides of your car at the same time?

They should have opposites so the form, at rest, is visually consistent. Of course, we would then have debates about whether the things should be mounted so they swirl clockwise or counter-clockwise... "The factory mounted them clockwise!" "It was counter-clockwise on the Club Sport model!" etc etc...

makes me think about how ferrari was into wheel aerodynamics back with the 348. The Italians probably laugh at our "turbo twists"

The RX-7 might be called an imitation, but at Mazda was original enough to put directional wheels on the 86 GXL. I think the buzz saw wheels on the 280ZX's were directional too!

I'm sure it was done to save $$$, but you would think it would make one sides brakes run a little cooler than the other in hard driving, no?

OK, ok, so maybe I have a little OCD, but it would LOOK nicer and neater if they WERE directional!!!! <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> <img src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" border="0" alt="[soapbox]" />

I agree about wanting to have them go both ways...definately cooler.

However, even the factory ones (solid and hollow spoke) twist in only one direction...
