Default Whaddya guys think of this? - Rocker Panel Cover Thingys

I know someone who can make vinyl...pretty much anything for my car. I've been debating some kind of dished rocker cover for a while, but I think I like this better.

This is my 84, but I want to put it on my 86 guards red NA. I photoshopped this picture cause I dont have a good side profile shot of the other car.

That might give the illusion that the car has been jacked up like a 4X4.It might depend on the color. You should photoshop the red one to be sure.

I don't quite like how it slopes down to the wheel wells. Makes the center of the car look too high. I think the effect would just be exaggerated on a red car. Good idea, might need a bit more tweaking but you're on the right track!

Yep-the straight diagonal lines don't belong - what designers would call inconsistent with the rest of the design language. Stock is sexier.

just get rid of the downward angle at the rear and it'll look fine.

Honestly man, i dont know exactly how much say i would have in this, and i can post more pictures if you would like, but looking at my avatar you can see if it is done improperly how crappy it can look.

Ive gotten nothing but suggestions on my car to get rid of the black stripes because it gives the car the illusion that its lifted higher off the ground...either that or it looks like a rx-7 at a glance because of "how high off the ground it is."

Now i love the side rocker panels that youve put on, ive always loved that squared of style, but at the end of the day your car will look like less of a clean 944 and more of a half rx7...half 944. If you do it right then i guess it will be ok, but looking at the second picture you have in your last post, see how the shadow hits the ground right below the side skirt? Now imagine the side skirt black and youll see what im talking about.

Hope you think it over, and good luck with your project.

Let me be the first to say I think it ruins the lines of the 944. Some of the rounder fiberglass rocker designs are OK but I don't like the squared off ones. On a historical side note for those of you that are new here, that blue car is the rennlist charity car some of us pitched in to buy for Serge944 back in 2005 after his 944 was stolen and wrecked. He had just started college, dirt poor, supported his Mom, and that old 944 was all he owned. Flash forward to 2009 and Serge is now working in China for 2 years as a mechanical engineer/QC inspector for the new Bay Bridge tower sections and making big bucks. The power of rennlist sends another good one down the road!

I never was a big fan of those skirts - they remind me of that goofy looking camaro body that makes the car look like an electric iron.

Make some straight-down units for track cars, to clean up the airflow underneath the car. About 2" ground clearance with a cutout at the jacking point.

That car should be lowered before any body kits are added. IMHO, of course.
