In the car it's full MB quart speakers, Eclipse head unit, equalizer, and 4-channel amp. Just added an older Alpine V12 mono amp and new JL W3V2 10"sub in a sealed JL box. Sounds pretty good to me. At home its all Yamaha with a Phase Technologies 12" sub. As for the computer, it's Klipsch pro media 4.1, which was cheap (around $275) and sounds good. Anyone else?

sounds good (no pun intended), as for myself I have a pair of Heathkit tube monoblocks (50+ yrs old) that have been redone with electro-harmonix tubes, new caps, and resistors.
As for the speakers I have a pair of Carver Amazings (60" ribbon with 4 12" subs in each 6' tall cabinet) playing with MIT cable, soundstream dual mono pre-amp, and a HDCD source. All being powered by a monster cable line conditioner.
I like it.....

yeah, i'm getting a new home setup for my computer/bedroom area, NAD C350 integrated amp with cambridge soundworks newton M80s (not your cambridge soundworks pc speaker set <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ) i've also had Grado SR80 headphones for a while, running on a creek obh-11SE headphone amp. also looking to get some senns for my birthday next month, hoping that happens 
my girlfriend says she's getting me hd280 pros, which i hear are the best sounding closed headphone you can really get, and have great external sound deadening. the grados sound good but block absolutely nothing, as anyone who's used them can tell you.
my in progress car install, which has sort of been posted before is:

Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.25 Component set
Phoenix Gold Tantrum T600 amp (4 channel)
2 Rockford Fostgate Punch XLC 10" Subs

by the way perry, as someone who's used the tri-ports, what do you think of them as compared to other stuff in the pricerange? i have a friend who was going to pick up a set but i think he decided aginst it. i've never used AKG but have listened to the grado/sennheiser line, how do you think they compare to those?
i've seen a lot of good reviews of the bose headphones, but never from anyone who's actually used other real cans (typical of bose actually, tons of outstanding reviews by people who've never heard anything else that costs half as much). anyway, i'd be interested to know how you think they stack up against the senn/grados that i'm familiar with.

Perry, do you have pics of your sub boxes? I am thinking of getting the Kicker solobaric myself, but I haven't decide how to install them yet, I may even make ported boxes, I am looking for ideas.

Having worked around Radio folks in the past, I understand that they do have the inside edge on the selection of a good set of headphones. Comfort and quality sound is a hard match to find.

Anyway I got high end audio taste with a low end budget.
Ended up with a JVC 5.1 receiver, JBL paramount speakers, upgraded the two front JBL satilites to Sony towers with 2x6 1x4 1x2 better low mids than the little JBL's... moved them to the bedroom.
Sub=CV 15" 250W
Garage system
Luxman 125W hi current amp
Altec voice of the theater A7's
Sony CD, Sony hi end cassette TCK61 IIRC, technices turntable

Ya know, sometimes its an advantage to have blown out hearing. Look at all the money I can save to put towards my Porsche habit. I seriously couldn't tell the difference between a walkman playing 128kbps mp3s and a high end stereo. The best music I hear is the stuff in my head that I try to write/record.
